Quilting I (Sept 4 - 25)

Use up those beautiful scraps in your stash that you can’t part with. In this introductory course, students will learn the basics of quilting while creating a lap or baby quilt. Classes cover: fabric types, colour schemes, piecing, pressing, quilting stitches and binding. This is a beginner course for those who have always wanted to learn about quilting but weren’t sure where to start.

Prerequisites:

  • intermediate sewing ability or Sewing Basics II
  • students should be able to: thread a needle, pivot corners, reverse stitch, etc.) without assistance; this class will not cover basic sewing machine operation

Info 
You will need to do up to 2 hours per week of homework.

The following will be provided during the class
--cutting table, rulers 
--sewing tools 

Note: Students provide their own sewing machines and 45 mm rotary cutter to use during the course.

Refund/cancellation policy:

Written notice of cancellation may be processed with a full refund (minus a 10% admin fee) two weeks prior to the course starting. Cancellations received 1 week prior to the course are eligible for a 50% refund unless there is a wait list for the course. Cancellations within the final week prior to the course are non-refundable unless there is a wait list and the course can be run with full attendance.
