We are excited to offer this one-day workshop for those who want to explore the therapeutic effects of weighted blankets and make their own. In this beginner course, participants will be lead through the process of making their own weighted lap-blanket. They will be supported in the sewing aspects and Cindy Carroll, autism mom and owner of Poly Pellets Ontario, who will share her experiences and offer tips for parents and caregivers wanting to integrate weighted materials into their children's routine.
That the finished product is a lap-blanket with dimensions of 22" x 28". You will learn all the techniques for creating a full sized blanket, but we do not have enough time in class to complete it.
Fabric and poly-pellets for this project are included in the workshop fee.
Prerequisite: Beginner sewing ability or Sewing Basics I
Beginner sewing ability: very little knowledge of sewing
Intermediate sewing ability: Has some sewing knowledge able to successfully sew a garment following a pattern
Advanced sewing ability: Has been sewing for some time is able to follow a sewing pattern and also make fitting modifications to a pattern as well as garment design changes to patterns.

Cancellations received 1 week prior to the course are eligible for a 50% refund unless there is a wait list for the course. Cancellations within the final week prior to the course are non-refundable unless there is a wait list for the course and the course can be run with full attendance.
