Upholstery I: Mar 14 - May 09 (Saturday morning Classes)

LOCATION: 404 McArthur Avenue at THE HUB classroom

Have you always wanted to make your own throw pillows, in colours that would complement your decor, or make a new slip cover for your worn-out dining chair or armchair.  If this is you then this is the class for you. This class is taught by a dressmaker who has worked for many years in the upholstery field.

You will learn how to:

  • Make the pillow form, and throw pillow, with a zipper and without a zipper 
  • Measure and sew a cover for your sofa cushion 
  • Make piping, and how to sew piping into your cushions 
  • Make a slip cover for your dining room chairs 
  • Create a new slip cover for your armchair 


You will need a domestic sewing machine, iron, and basic sewing kit at home to practice and complete their garments.

EcoEquitable will supply the sewing machine and some tools for use in class.

Refund/Cancellation policy:

Written notice of cancellation may be processed with a full refund (minus a 10% admin fee) two weeks prior to the course starting.  Cancellations received 1 week prior to the course are eligible for a 50% refund unless there is a wait list for the course.  Cancellations within the final week prior to the course are non-refundable unless there is a wait list for the course and the course can be run with full attendance.
