Enabling Apparel Entrepreneurship

Enabling Apparel Entrepreneurs is a program designed to support budding apparel entrepreneurs in Ottawa, particularly those facing barriers to setting up their own businesses.  EcoEquitable’s goal is to support women entrepreneurs in order that they can begin or grow their apparel businesses both physically and online.  EcoEquitable’s safe and inclusive atmosphere support women, particularly immigrant women, on their entrepreneurship journey and facilitate access to online resources, business supports and networks in Ottawa.  Goals of this project include to:

1.    Create entrepreneurship and self-employment opportunities for women, particularly immigrant women

2.    Support the creation and innovation of locally made apparel products

3.    Connect participants to local and digital entrepreneurship resources

4.    Support women in developing digital business skills and Canadian experience

5.    Create a community and network of apparel entrepreneurs who can support and assist each other as their businesses grow

Futurpreneur Canada: Offers great resources for all and financing up to$15000 for entrepreneurs under the age of 39. Fantastic, free business plan writing tool  – helps with what content is required via examples and helpful hints

Website assessment tool: Use it on your competitors’ website to help you benchmark where you stand (what are they doing better?) Best part is it’s free!
