Textile Summit 2017
The 2017 Textile Summit was a huge success!
The purpose of this one-day conference is to bring together those working in the textile field – from areas of apparel, accessories, woven arts, and more. There are many of us operating in Ottawa, but we don’t have a clear idea of who is out there and how to better network and collaborate with each other. We want to change that.
We aim to bring together fabric suppliers, sewing machine vendors and operators, small makers, professional made-in-Canada businesses, and those interested in joining this field. We are opening the discussion about the textile industry and bringing firsthand business experience to the table.
Learn from our keynote speakers, network with leaders in the field, and join the discussion. There will be exciting panels, as well as vendors to connect with.
EcoEquitable is a leading social enterprise providing a bridge to social and economic integration for people in need, especially immigrant women, while greening our community. Over the last five years, we have built our production capacity and are proud to be on-shoring and in-sourcing sewing manufacturing. The women in our production team are dedicated to producing durable and ethically made goods. (You can browse our catalogue here). Production at EcoEquitable supports:
- Local manufacturing and the creation of local jobs
- Female-led households
- Low carbon production through reused/recycled materials.
Our Production Workshop is an essential component of our operations because it allows us to generate revenue and contribute to the made-in-Canada movement.
