Prerequisites:  Age between 12 and 18 years old. Beginner sewing ability,

 


Now that you are confident with the basics of sewing, challenge yourself by creating comfortable garments and accessories using knit fabrics in this intermediate level class.  The instructor will guide you through some frequently-requested projects: a stylish tee (or two), a jersey headband and scrunchie, and cozy socks to use up your scraps.  

Our course offer a safe, fun environment for teens to explore, learn and grow the passion for fashion and sewing. As always, the safety of the kids, staff and community is our highest priority. All camp health and safety protocols have been restructured to adhere to provincial and Ottawa Public Health guidelines.

 

This course is designed for young sewists between 12 to 18 years old who want to get immersed in the amazing world of fashion. Teens who register for this course must be confident graduates of a beginner-level sewing class and should be able to thread and operate EE’s sewing machines with limited supervision.


IN-CLASS PROJECT

In this course, you will learn how to make a basic garment using knit fabric.

 

ECOEQUITABLE WILL PROVIDE:

Sewing equipment while you're in the classroom.

YOU NEED TO BRING:

  • A notebook for taking notes 
  • A basic sewing kit
  • Fabric and notions to work on your projects

    MATERIALS

    Materials are not included. A list of materials will be provided by your instructor before the first class and/or on the day of your first class.

    Students are encouraged to have a domestic sewing machine, iron, and basic sewing kit at home to practice and/or complete their in-class projects.
