About your Instructors:

France: I'm a retired educator. I have five children and 9 grandchildren. I learned to sew when I was 14 and my sister taught me to make a skirt. I have sewn all my life and I love it. I used to make all our family's clothes when I was a stay at home mum. Drapes, everything. During COVID quilting kept me sane and I finished 12 quilts!!! Now I'm back to sewing outfits for my granddaughters which is so fun. I am determined that they will become sewers - since it seems to have jumped a generation! We are excited to welcome France back as an Instructor after having her teach with us in early 2023.

Madeleine: Fascinated as a child with her Aunt's hat shop, Madeleine France Cormier became a milliner after studying haute couture in Montreal and Ottawa, Canada. Madeleine believes a good milliner is a good listener; she needs to learn about the event, the locale, colour preferences, and perhaps most importantly, the impression you want to make. She runs her own business, "Chapeaux de Madeleine" here in Ottawa. Madeleine taught at EcoEquitable back in 2022 and has rejoined us in 2023!
