Board
Anna Toneguzzo, Board Director

Over her 35-year career, Anna has worked in international development, government relations, and public policy, with a focus on education access, skills development, and women’s empowerment. Early on, she worked in Côte d’Ivoire on women’s entrepreneurship and training projects funded by the UN and Government of Canada. At Colleges and Institutes Canada, she led international programs, advocacy, strategic initiatives and program development related to skills development, newcomer integration, Indigenous education, and applied research – positioning the vital role of public colleges and institutes in addressing national and international challenges.
As she transitions toward retirement in 2025, Anna is eager to contribute in new and meaningful ways, particularly on priorities aligned with her values – like climate action and sustainability. Serving on the Board is not only a way to stay engaged – it’s personally meaningful. Her appreciation for sewing and design comes from her mother, a talented seamstress, and her two creative daughters, one of whom now works professionally in fashion design.
Anna enjoys spending time outdoors with her husband, four children, their partners and families– gardening, hiking, biking, and skiing.
