Ingrid Hunt, Interim Chair

Ingrid Hunt currently serves as the Assistant Secretary to the Boards of Directors for Export Development Canada (EDC) and FinDev Canada. Ingrid has served EDC for more than two decades, holding several roles across many areas of the organization, notably in the realms of risk management, project management, process management, and governance. As a certified accountant, governance professional, and internal controls specialist, Ingrid has dedicated much of her career to building strong governance frameworks and to fostering the ethical standards and risk-aware culture of the organizations she serves.

Ingrid’s love of textiles and sewing is long held, with forty years of construction experience, she also served the Ottawa sewing community in her younger years as a salesperson at Riopelle Fabric Centre and held Canada’s textile industry portfolio through her customer service roles at EDC. She has supported Ottawa’s dance and musical theatre community for nearly two decades as a costume designer, wardrobe mistress, and sewist. Ingrid has also provided design and construction training to many costume room volunteers over her years supporting the musical theatre community and is currently the lead costume designer for the Creative Edge Dance Academy in Ottawa’s west end.

As an active member of her community, Ingrid has held various positions with organizations in her local community, including three years as the President and four years as Treasurer of her community association. Ingrid is a strong advocate of textile waste reduction and since 2015, has been the administrator of a growing online community, now serving 2500 members with the aim of rehoming and repurposing craft and sewing supplies in the Ottawa area.
