Kaylyn is native to Nova Scotia, located on Mi'kmaw territory, the traditional lands of the Mi'kmaq people. With an education background in fashion design from La Salle College and Kwantlen Polytechnic University in Vancouver, Kaylyn went on to own her own business designing bridal and evening wear in 2008. She expanded her career in 2014, entering the sportswear apparel industry as the creative operations lead for Sugoi, a Vancouver-based performance apparel company. A few years later, Kaylyn pursued her travel dreams by moving to Melbourne, Australia, where she worked as a design manager in the juvenile safety products industry. Kaylyn is now pursuing a Master of Design at the Nova Scotia College of Art and Design University. Upon returning to the academic world, she wanted to reconnect with Canada's fashion and textile industry after five years living abroad via volunteerism. As a result, Kaylyn joined the EcoEquitable board of directors in 2021 as an expert in the industry.
