Mercedes is an artist, creative and educator with many interrelated passions and a deep love for community. A proud alum of the Sewing for Jobs Program, Mercedes holds a Bachelor of Fine Arts from the University of Ottawa.

She learned to sew as a teenager and has continued to apply these skills over the years in both garment making and artistic projects. A proponent of slow fashion, Mercedes believes in using materials on hand or sourcing locally to create quality products that do not compromise style or comfort. She enjoys designing both playful costumes and comfortable everyday loungewear, and looks forward to fostering an open, collaborative learning environment where everyone can learn and create together.
